I think jets are easier to handle with a joystick. But for my requierements keyboard is enough...

I use a Saitek x52 when I pilot jets or any aircraft. I bought it for $200 and it's pretty sweet. It doest things that the keyboard can't do like use of the rudders, makes the s turn perform better. Unfortunately I am only being a recon in this game. Unless they up the tanking to be able to train for it.
I wouldn't bad mouth controllers if I were you, if used properly you would be saying.... Pfft keyboard and mouse. You'll see how I fly when/if the levels go higher. Hahaha

I use a USB Xbox 360 gamepad for piloting choppers and jets.. I can use the keyboard/mouse, but I can fly better with the gamepad. I also have a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 Pro that I use occasionally.. Used to wreak havoc with the fighters/bombers in BF2 with it. Goodtimes..
